ITV Letters To Be Substituted By Email or SMS Andalucia

Gradually the Andalucia Administration will substitute the letters they send out, advising you of approaching ITV renewal for your vehicle, by emails or SMS messages. They started with the implementation of this new telematic system in the final trimestre of last year, but it will take 2 years to be implemented in all provinces.

The Administration used to use up 30,7 ton of paper annually, sending these letters by ordinary mail. Besides this, it will mean a saving of approx. 900.000 euros per year, as sending emails don’t cost the administration a cent, while the cost of sending an SMS message is a lot less than that of sending a letter.

But take note, this is not an automatic process, you have to sign up for this service, through the VEIASA website.

You need to enter the licence plate of your vehicle and date of matriculation, so keep your car paperwork handy.
