Reading those FAQS, you will be aware of the right to update for a certificate (now small card size) for all those who are permanent residents. The documentation for renewals are:
The A4 or card size certificate
Change of details such as address, marital status. Use the EX18 but the form
Passport and copies of first and photo page
Up to date padron certificate (dated under three months)
The small fee form 790 available from the foreigners office.
Those who are permanent residents (five years), should not be asked to provide the same documentation as on first application. This information is in the database.
Warning. Those who are not permanent residents and applying for renewal for lost or destroyed certificate, may find that you are asked to supply all the information as first time applicants. This is when they wish to check if the applicant still meets the requirement to hold residency.
Note: you can also change the details online and update several other dabases of government authorities, like Trafico, Seguridad Social, simultaneously.
