Public Holidays Spain 2017

As published in the State Bulletin yesterday, Saturday 8th, 2016.

Fixed for all Spain the following public holidays:
6th of January, 14th of April, 1st of May, 15th of August, 12th of October, 1st of November, 6th and 8th of December, 25th of december.

4 more that the Autonomous Regions can decide to substitute for another: 2nd of January, which will be public holiday in Andalucía, Aragón, Asturias, Castilla y León, Murcia and Melilla, and the 13th of April, which will be be public holiday in all regions except Cataluña that has chosen to substitute for the 17th of April.
20th of March will only be celebrated in Extremadura and Madrid and the 25th of July only in Galicia, Navarra y País Vasco.

Added on to these national and regional holidays each autonomous region has established one day to celebrate its independence and every town knows its local holidays.

In total 14, like every year.
