The Spanish Social Security pension knows a complementary payment for those women who are also mothers, of at least 2 children. To compensate their generally shorter contribution period because of taking time out to take care of young children. Those who apply for a contributory pension in Spain as of 1.1.2016 can apply for this ´complemento´.

It´s 5% on top of your calulated pension if you have 2 children (either through birth or adopted)
It´s 10% if you have 3 children
and 15% if you have 4 or more children.

There are restrictions when your calculated pension is already at the Spanish max. amount, and when you only take your pension part time, but the Seguridad Social will take that all into account when you apply for your pension.
Make sure to prepare copies of either Libro de Familia or birth certificates if the children were born abroad.
