Lost Counterpart Uk Driving Licence – Form D737

Posted in: On The Road
Author: Richelle de Wit

If you have lost the paper counterpart of your UK driving licence and need it to present it when you exchange your licence for a Spanish permit, you can order a Certificate of Entitlement, also known as Form D737 from the DVLA.

This form or certificate contains all the details of your UK licence, showing that it is current and free of charges. Trafico will accept this, but sometimes the clerk on duty will not be aware of this and you may have to insist.

You can order Form D737 by telephone, calling Swansea at 44-870-2400009, or online, through the DVLA website. They are open all day. Have your licence number and personal details ready. The fee is five pounds and you can pay by credit card.

Please note: The information provided is based upon our understanding of current legislation. It is not legal advice but is provided freely to enable you to be properly informed. We recommend that if you are considering taking action, you should seek professional advice.
