How Do I Apply for a N.I.E.?

Download the EX15 from HERE.

Make an appointment ‘cita previa’ at your foreigners office at your station of the ‘Policia Nacional’ vía this SITE.

Take your valid passport and photo copies (for EU citizens)of the first and photo pages. (None EU, photocopies of all pages).

Add an address, yours or fiscal.

Download from 790 ‘tasa’ (tax) HERE. Visit nearest bank and pay the fee where you will be given a stamped copy to take to your appointment.

Return on date advised (usually a few days) and collect your NIE certificate. The NIE is valid as your number of identification fiscal for life. This number does not change.

You can also apply from abroad through the Spanish consulates.

Economical: Opening a bank account or other related to banking. Provide the name and address of bank. Name the bank and the

In relation to the tax office. Provide information on transactions on: Taxes, any transactions involving taxes
including the payment of and of inheritance matters. Specify in detail such as; purchases, sales, Donations as
gifts, transfer dominions of all types. Whichever judicial acts.

Social: Details of the social act taking part in, including private or private social events.
