New law since February 2018 introducing new criteria for modalities of camp sites and adding a new one, for Motorhome ´overnight´ sites.
All campsites and motorhome overnight facilities have to be registered on the Registro de Turismo, filing a ´declaración responsable´ announcing the start of the activities. Link to forms HERE, you can file online with a digital certificate installed on your computer, or fill out the forms, print and present at the Registro de Turismo in the province capital nearest to you.
If your business was already registered, you have 3 years to comply with the new regulations, applying for re-classification of category and displaying the corresponding signs, but only 3 months to comply with the new obligatory liability insurance, now to an amount of at least 600.000 euros per incident.
Link to the new law HERE, but it´s all in Spanish of course, so please check with your gestor to make sure you comply.
Also, occupancy of casitas, chalets, bungalows, refugios, cabañas etc., so fixed buildings on the camp site, as well as movable lodgings like caravans, if stationed there for long periods of time, is limited to a maximum of 6 months total per calendar year. Furthermore, they need to be exploited by the same ´titular´ so owner or agency, registered as such on the Registro de Turismo.
Please note that it´s NOT allowed to reside permanently in a motorhome or whatever other building or movable lodgings situated on a camp site.
