Asked For Certificado De Concordancia?

For those wishing to change their nationality with regards to their registration as resident, e.g. from British passport to Irish or any other EU passport, you can be asked to provide a Certificado de Concordancia, to be obtained from the British Consulate. It basically confirms that you are one and the same person, with both passports.

The certificate should really only be asked in cases where a foreigner, registered in the system with NIE number, changes their nationality to Spanish, so will now be registered with DNI number.

But, although not strictly correct, several Foreigners Offices ask for the certificate when foreigners want to link their existing NIE number to another passport/nationality.
