Must Nonresidents Pay Taxes?

All nonresidents with a property or assets in Spain must submit an annual tax declaration before the end of the year, over the previous tax year. So before December 31st of 2016 over tax year 2015. Please visit link below for detailed instructions on one of the personal taxation documents. You may wish to have an accountant do this for you ‘gestor de contabilidad’.

Personal Taxation Note 6 – Modelo 210 Non Resident TAX

Please note that if you rent out your property, you are obliged to declare the rental income per trimestre that you´ve actually received rental income so if received in July and August 2015 for example, to declare in the first 2 weeks of October 2015. With the same form 210. More info in the FAQs section on Taxation.

Note: new form to use as of 2018, so rental income during 2018 and imputed rental income as of December 2019.
