Disability - As A Disabled Person, Am I Exempt Of Paying Road Tax?

Yes you are, if your disability is graded 33% or more. It´s stated in letter A of Annex II of the Reglamento General de Vehículos, Real Decreto 2822/1998, de 23 de diciembre.

You apply at Town Hall and need to bring the following documents:

• Certificado de la minusvalía emitido por el órgano competente / Certificate stating degree of disability
• D.N.I del titular del vehículo / Passport of registered owner of vehicle (and Residency Cert. I assume)
• Permiso de circulación del vehículo a nombre del minusválido / Vehicle´s paperwork in name of disabled person
• Permiso de conducir. En el caso de menores, incapacitados o personas que no tengan el permiso de conducir, declaración jurada de que el destino del vehículo es para su transporte (la declaración jurada deberá ir firmada por el padre, madre o tutor para los menores o incapacitados y se acompañará una fotocopia del libro de familia o del documento que acredite la representación). / Driving licence. In case of a minor, unfit driver or person without driving licence, sworn statement that the vehicle is for their transport (sworn statement has to be signed by father, mother or tutor in case of minors or unfit and has to be accompanied by copy of Libro de Familia or other document that accredits said representation.
