Holiday Rentals, Facts on Tax

From the Spanish Tax Office, in English.

Agencia Tributaria website

Info specific to the Canaries: there is no exemption with regards to IGIC, the Canarian equivalent of IVA, so all holiday rentals must be invoiced with 7% IGIC, specified on the invoices, and owners of holiday properties must register for IGIC (Canarian Indirect General Tax) with modelo 400 and file trimestral tax declarations, modelo 420.

Status quo February 2019, there is talk of this changing, to make the Canaries a more attractive holiday destination.
