Info from our tax advisor Philip Carroll:
The state legislation regarding Impuesto sobre el Patrimonio (Wealth Tax) remains in force until 31st December 2017, so returns have to be filed in 2017 and 2018. Window between the 7th of April and the 30th of June.
Update January 2019, the Impuesto sobre el Patrimonio will remain in force for tax year 2019 as well.
Update January 2020. Likewise for tax year 2020.
The exempt amount allowed by the state remains at €700,000 plus an additional €300, 000 for the residential home, but these allowances and the tax rates can, and have been, varied by some of the autonomous communities.
