We are aware that if you ask at your bank, you will be told that you must visit the branch to close the account. Inconvenient and often impossible to those who are now no longer residing in Spain. There are no laws or regulations in relation to closing a bank account so unless the bank stated this in your opening contract, they cannot insist that you visit a branch for the purpose of closing your account.
