We recently published that we have been invited to attend the Citizens Advice International (CAI) Conference this year held in Gibraltar on the 22 of June. I will be given a short talk the following morning when the delegates that make up the CAI network from countries around the world will be present.

The invitation was followed by a visit to CAB Gibraltar last week where it was decided that we would collaborate therefore assisting citizens on both sides of the border. I am sure that this will be a relief too cross border workers with residency in Spain. Many who we have assisted, were not aware of their rights in Spain including healthcare, unemployment benefit and much more.

Much confusion has also reigned relating to taxes to be paid on both or either side of the frontier.

The staff at CAB Gibraltar were most welcoming and very friendly. Nice to be in a British colony yet to have the meeting held, in a Mediterranean garden. Tea was served of course.
