The UK and Northern Ireland have asked to join the Schengen Information System (SIS) and will be provisionally allowed to do so as of March 1st of this year.
The exchange of information is with regards to descriptions of persons wanted for detention for extradition; descriptions of missing persons; descriptions of persons whose presence is required in court procedures; descriptions of persons and objects for discreet or specific inspections and descriptions of objects that are to be confiscated or used in a penal court case.
The trial period will last 6 months and will be evaluated after that.
