Sorry Tax Man, I am at the Beach

Those who have subscribed to electronic notifications (DEH), but won’t have access to the internet during their holidays, or just don´t want to receive any electronic notifications then, can inform the Tax Office and ‘suspend’  notifications for max. 30 days (can be different periods, doesn’t have to be consecutive).

Making use of this option, created in 2011 in view of citizens’ “right to disconnect” can create peace of mind as electronic notifications are supposed to be ‘picked up’  within 10 days and when not, automatically get the legal status of having been delivered.

And the response time is often short, 10 days in most cases, so not something you need while on holidays.

These ‘on hold days’  are called ‘días de cortesía’ and you should apply online, through the Agencia Tributaria electronic office, with at least 7 natural days before your holidays start.

Q. Can you change the dates, once applied for?

A. Yes you can.

Q. Do these ‘días de cortesía’ count to lengthen response time to notifications received just before?

A. No, they do not.

Q. Can I still receive notifications by ordinary mail, during the suspense period?

A. Yes, you can.

Q. How do I do it?
