Unemployment benefits will be renewed automatically. Appointment care is being done by phone or in person. Neither the confidentiality of the data nor the payroll management have been altered.

Computer experts from the National Cryptological Centre, the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) and the General Secretariat of the Digital Administration have been working tirelessly since yesterday to determine the origin and effects of the computer incident that SEPE has suffered.

The application deadlines will not count until the management system is fully restored. In this way, the period for requesting benefits is extended by as many days as it takes for the service to return to normal. This situation will also not affect the rights of applicants for unemployment benefits and subsidies or job applications, which will be automatically renewed for the duration of this situation.

During this incident, there has been no theft of data and that the operating and management systems of the SEPE, as well as the servers, have not been damaged by the cyberattack. Therefore, payroll management, benefits in general and ERTE in particular, have not been affected by the incident and will be paid as normal.

In addition, the technical team responsible for the SEPE IT system, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Digital Administration, has opened access to information and queries on the web www.sepe.es

All SEPE personnel are making every effort to resume activity as soon as possible and with full security guarantees.
