Reporting Cases of Illegal Practices by the Healthcare Facilities

Dear Members, I have been in touch with ‘Yo Si Sanidad Universal’, an association that is fighting to abolish abuses of the healthcare law.

In order to do that, and also to expose the way that the civil servants do NOT do adhere to the law, I will use  the organisation’s nationwide reporting (anonymous) platform. I will be entering every case of those actions that go against this law.

What are the abuses?

* Refusal of free treatment (not only emergencies) but also healthcare to minors of less than 18 years old and pregnant and postpartum women: These persons have the right to ALL access to the Spanish NHS, not only to the A&E services. Where do you ask for treatment if you belong to any of the mentioned groups? No not at the INSS but directly in a healthcare centre. if you are refused, please post the information below on the comments box. Please tag me @maria and I will answer you including providing you with a standard letter to refute their actions in denying you your rights and ask for your permission to report the incident.

* Invoicing For said services: This is illegal. It is illegal to invoice pregnant and postpartum women (this is 40 days after the birth).  I have a letter to refute charges written in accordance with the law

* invoicing for services provided in the A&E to any person: This is a grey area so each case must be studied on its own basis. I have a letter to refute charges written in accordance with the law

Reporting the relevant faculty or health centre will be carried out anonymously so there is no need to worry.

And remember, if we as users of the service do not stand up for our rights NOBODY WILL.

Please note: The information provided is based upon our understanding of current legislation. It is not legal advice but is provided freely to enable you to be properly informed. We recommend that if you are considering taking action, you should seek professional advice.
