Since yesterday, the regular heavy 12,5 kg butane gas bottles should be sold for 14,12 euros, another significant decrease in price, since the first one in March of this year.
This price will stand till the third Tuesday in July, when the new price for the following 2 months will be published. This will not vary more than 5% up or down, however, as determined in the regulations. For the past two revisions (both around 10% decrease in price) they have made an exception, because of the significant decrease in prices internationally.
The new price for gas bottles of 12,5 kgs is nationwide, but is only valid for the heavy bottles from Repsol, Atlas and Disa. The market for light bottles, so those that Cepsa carries, has been liberated in July 2014.
Early in May 2015, Repsol has launched a light bottle as well, to be able to compete with Cepsa on this market. The new light bottles are going to be distributed throughout Spain in the coming months, at a price that is lower than that of the Cepsa bottles, hopefully forcing them to lower their price as well, which would be a good thing for us as consumers.
The new price for heavy propane 12,5 kg bottles will be 12,42 euros.
