Passengers on UK Flights to Ensure That Electronic and Electrical Equipment is Charged

All electronic and electrical devices carried in hand luggage must be charged and able to switch on. The advice came rom the US after heightened security checks and applies to flight between the US and UK.

The DFT now states that this is likely to be extended to other flight routes but say that for security reasons would not elaborate on routes affected. Passengers flying in and out of the UK. with devices that cannot be powered will not be permitted to take these onto the aircraft.

To be included in this list are, cameras, travel irons, hairdryers, electrical shavers, games and in fact any equipment that needs to be switched on.
