New Royal Decree 2014/0104 for Expatriates

The small team spend most of our C.A.B time in serious mode. There are the odd times when we just need a light moment. The new royal decree first drafted and published by Richelle and Myra in 2014.
We need to bring to your attention these new and important laws. Out of the 65 articles, we have only published those relating to the expat community. The full version is available by googling the royal decree.

Decreto Real (Royal Decree) 2016/0104

Article 1. All those who sold or have purchased a property in the last four years must contribute towards the expenses of legalising homes that have been purchased in the main by expats. This community is being blamed for not having made themselves aware of the rules beforehand. Forms to complete with your name, address and full details of your bank account can be obtained from the planning department of your town hall.

Article 2. All EU citizens who have lived here for ten years or more, MUST, take out Spanish citizenship. All those who do not choose to do so must present themselves at the office of ‘extranjeria’ in their town and give good and acceptable reasons. Children will take not have to comply until they are 18.

Article 3. To ensure social uniformity in all member states, no more than 1 immigrant per 10 indigenous citizens. This originates from northern EU countries where they try to avoid ghettos with foreign workers. As we´re all one Europe, anti-discrimination laws dictate this rule to be put into force in Spain as well..The calculations: 1 non-Spanish resident in each 12 square meters.

Article 4. Expats from all EU countries must apply for a permit to purchase alcohol from supermarkets. It will be down to the supermarket staff to decide how much alcohol you can purchase. Full trollies will be advised against.

Artilce 5. It will now be obligatory to learn some Spanish or have your residency cards confiscated until you are able to pass a simple test.

Article 6. Following Cataluña, and now law on the Costa Blanca and the Costa del Sol, parading along the boulevards alongside the beach in beachwear. Torso and bottoms to be covered in clothing at all times when not on the beach…Fines for non-compliance, can reach the sum of up to 3000 euro’s

Article 7. All those who wish to keep their legally issued EU driving licences after today, must take a simple test. This new law only refers to Britons or any other drivers who have ever driven on the left. The test is simple and mainly concentrates on the entering and exit of roundabouts. Test costs including five lessons, 250 euro’s.

Article 8. The new tax on the use of solar panels. Now taken a step further and to be used for sunbathers. Tickets to be bought on entry to the beach from authorised inspectors on the promenades. Anyone leaving the beach with noticeable sunburn may be fined for excess.
