Per 18.5.2016 Movistar started charging clients who consume extra ´megas´ on top of their contracted monthly amount of data volume. At 1,5 eurocent/MB and capped at 15 euros/month and with SMS warnings to the clients if they are approaching their contracted maximum, when they have reached an additional amount of 4,70 euros and again at 11 euros extra.
If you want to maintain the previous conditions, so for the navigaton speed to come down when you´ve reached your contracted maximum, without any additional cost for the extra ´megas´ you consume at this lower speed, you need to call 223528 (free of charge) and set the maximum of extra charges for additional data at zero euros (instead of the cap of 15 euros). You can change this ´setting´ once a month.
Consumer organisation Facua has denounced Movistar re this ´abusive clause´ as according to the law imposing a service on clients that they never asked for themselves is to be considered abusive.
