Hospitals are Charging for Healthcare and in Some Cases this is Illegal

This is very serious. Reports are starting to surface about hospitals denying care to pregnant ladies, minors and in emergency situations.

This time a lady was denied care in Denia’s hospital, only to have a miscarriage later. From what I have read it probably would have happened anyway, but one never knows, and denying care that is very clearly written in the law is illegal and immoral.

Also we have a member of CAB whose son was seen, but then invoiced even though he is a MINOR and as such covered for free healthcare under RD-Law 16/2012

I am shocked.

To make things clear, Rd-law 16/2012 includes free healthcare for

+ Urgent treatment
+ Pregnancy, partum and postpartum
+ Minors (less than 18)

Sometimes they ask to sign a compromiso de pago, which is incorrect, and then they invoice people (even without the compromiso)……..

I have a model letter to contest these invoices in case this happen.

know your right, and fight for them.
