The INSS website for making applications for healthcare for you and your beneficiaries. Suggest using a computer as a right hand click should provide you with an English translation. Of course form filling should be in Spanish.

Making an application for healthcare online. Who is it for?

This procedure is directed to:

People who need to claim the right to healthcare in Spain for themselves or their family members.

People who do not need to apply for the right to health care:

Workers in active employment status.

Social Security pensioners.

People who receive benefits.

These situations automatically qualify for healthcare coverage under the Social Security system.

Requirements

You have the right to healthcare:

You reside legally and habitually in Spain and do not have mandatory health insurance coverage through other means.

Furthermore, your family They are entitled to healthcare as your beneficiaries if:

They reside legally and habitually in Spain.

They depend on you financially.

They are under 26 years of age (or over 26 years of age with a disability equal to or greater than 65%, provided they are not spouses or civil partners).

Family relationship Regarding you:

Spouse or common-law partner.

Daughter or son.

Granddaughter or grandson.

Sister or brother.

People under your guardianship or care.

Documentation

To complete the application, you will need:

Identity document of the applicant.

Identity document of the beneficiaries: from 14 years of age if they have Spanish nationality and from 6 months of age if they have foreign nationality.

Documents that prove the family relationship or the foster care or guardianship situation with the beneficiary, if applicable.

Disability certificate, in the case of beneficiaries over 26 years of age.

Besides,You might need additional documents depending on the situation.

Foreigners

If neither you nor your beneficiaries have recognized Spanish nationality, you may also need:

Certificate of non-exportation of the right to health care from the country of origin(Only for people from countries of the European Union, Andorra, Chile, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Morocco, Norway, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Tunisia). Foreigner Identity Card (TIE)or resolution of authorization of legal residence in Spain.

Certificate of registration as a citizen of the European Union (registration in the Central Register of Foreigners)for people with nationality from the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway.
