Published in the BOE this week, Resolution of 10th of September 2014, by the Spanish Agency for Consumption, Food Security and Nutrition. Stating the subsidies that were applied for and granted to consumer organisations to realize activities re information, defense and protection of the rights of consumers.
A total of 2.252.641,20 euros has been granted to the following organisations
– Asociación de Usuarios de Bancos, Cajas y Seguros
– Asociación General de Consumidores
– Asociación de Usuarios de la Comunicación
– Confederación Española de Organizaciones de Amas de Casa, Consumidores y Usuarios
– Confederación de Consumidores y Usuarios (CECU)
– Consumidores en Acción (FACUA)
– Confederación Española de Cooperativas de Consumidores y Usuarios
– Federación Unión Cívica Nacional de Consumidores y Mas de Hogar de España
Several projects that received funding are aimed at the consumer protection of vulnerable groups, like the elderly.
Another one is directed at a better understanding of the Electricity Bills.
Projects that educate consumers about expiration dates on food and being a responsible consumer have received grants as well.
