It is important to provide this information for any UK nationals who are planning a trip or moving to other EU members states that is not the UK so they can research and prepare in case of a no deal scenario when freedom of movement will end on the exit of the UK from the EU.

With an agreement, freedom of movement rights are applicable until the end of the transition period 2020.

At the end of the transition period or in case of a no deal scenario:

“In respect of United Kingdom nationals and their family members, the rights provided for by this Part shall not include further free movement to the territory of another Member State, the right of establishment in the territory of another Member State, or the right to provide services on the territory of another Member State or to persons established in other Member States”.
