CAB Spain Planning to Hold Clinics In Various Offices in Spain

We continue to receive many requests for appointments directly with CAB Spain volunteers. For this reason and the fact that various law firms have offered us their facilities, we are  planning to hold clinics in various regions of Spain.

For some time now we have been receiving offers from members saying that they would like to volunteer with CAB Spain. We have not had the manpower to be able to coordinate these generous people.  With some support from various law firms including the offer of legal advisers, we hope that one of our senior advisers, will find the time to coordinate a volunteer team.

The clinics would be open mornings and to begin with, one day a week. We can provide visiting hours on further days if there was found to be a need.  Telephone numbers and email would be provided for making an appointment. For those willing to wait, we will consider walk in appointments.

We are hoping that the volunteers would be willing to accept training  as ‘gateway assessors’.    An assessor would be a volunteer who would be available face to face in one of the CAB clinics.  With a short interview, they would be able to assess what further action needs to be taken. The client may be directed to information already available, a consultancy with a CAB Spain adviser either face to face, by phone or via the internet. and or a lawyer if deemed necessary.

Gateway assessors will sign and confidentiality agreement. The assessors would need similar skills to those expected by CAB UK and listed below:

  • Be good at listening
  • Be able to work in a team
  • Be able to read and write English
  • Be open–minded and non-judgemental
  • Good data entry skills
  • Enjoy helping people
  • The addition for CAB Spain. Elementary knowledge of Spanish.

The areas in Spain that we are hoping to cover by the end of this year would be:

Alicante

Almeria

Algeciras

Barcelona

Cordoba

Granada

Fuengirola

Málaga

Marbella

Madrid

Please note that a weekly clinic is still held in Sabinillas Manilva at the St George Charity shop each Wednesday morning.

To date we have saved thousands of euros for many clients by providing them with normally detailed answers to their questions. For this reason we believe the clinics will be successful. We are and will be always open to donations to help keep us afloat.
