The Spanish government has allowed the electricity companies to bill all consumers for the extra costs the different and retro-active way to calculate the state-regulated part of the PVPC (Precio Voluntario para el Pequeño Consumidor) tariff has brought them, in one extra payment, due in May this year. The re-calculation of the tariff was laid down by the courts and the extra payment is to compensate for the period the old method was used, waiting for the new one to be approved and to be applied retro-actively.
The extra payment will be billed in May 2017 to all those who were on the PVPC tariff in the period April 2014 – December 2016.
According to Endesa, for a consumer with a contracted power of 4,4 kW and a usage of 3000 kwH/year, the total cost of the refacturation could amount to 5,67 euros, but most would only pay 2,2 euros.
