The larger towns in Spain are likely to have more than one court house. Example would be “Juzgado de Primera Instancia. ” In small town or village there may only be a “Juzgado de Paz.” (the Court of Peace).
The court of peace is a unipersonal judicial body, which exercises its jurisdiction in a municipality where there is no Court of First Instance; and is served by a non – professional judge, known as a Justice of the Peace who exercises jurisdictional functions and is responsible for solving minor issues.
The list will also include where applicable:
OFICINA REGISTRO CIVIL. CIVIL REGISTER
SERVICIO COMUN DE NOTIFICACIONES Y EMBARGOS. SERVICE OF NOTIFICATIONS AND EMBARGOES
OFICINA DECANATO.
JUZGADO DE PAZ. COURT OF PEACE.
CL?NICA M?DICO FORENSE de Estepona
In these smaller town you may also be served papers or summons by the Juzgado de Paz for an appearance in a Court in a neighbouring town.
