Non Contributory or Invalidity Pension and Renting? Claim a Complement

Update: again included in the state budget for 2020, 525 euros, one-off payment.

Residents in Spain who are drawing a non-contributory or invalidity pension and in a rental property, may be entitled to a complimentary payment of 525 euros annually.

Apply before the 31st of December if you meet the requisites below:

Receive a non-contributory retirement or invalidity pension.
Reside in a rental property with a contract of at least one year.
Have lived in the said rental property for at least 180 days on date of application.
Do not have a property.
Have no family relationship with the owner of the rental property.
If more than one person on a NC pension lives in the property, only one can claim.

It is recognised that the property is a habitual residence when:

The term of the lease is not for less than one year.
The applicants have resided in the said property for at least 180 days at the time of application.

The amount of subsidy for 2014 amounts to 525 euro annually.

You can take the form to Social Services in your town, an IMSERSO office in your province, an INSS office in your area, or send it off by mail.
Telematic application is only available for those living in Ceuta and Melilla.
