Subsidies for Rent and Improving Vivienda Prolonged

By Royal Decree 367/2016 of December 9th, the Spanish government has prolonged the Plan de Fomento del Alquiler de Viviendas y de la Rehabilitación Edificatoria which the previous government had put in in place for the period 2013-2016.

These Plans are usually made for a 4-year period, but as the present government only came to rule in November this year, they chose for a one year extension of the present plan that was valid for 2013-2016  instead.

This plan entails rent subsidies for those on low income and also subsidies to improve or conserve properties. Both private owners and communities of owners can apply.

The subsidies for home improvements have to do with improving energy efficiency or better access  for example and those for conservation have to meet a series of requirements, report re the necessity of the conservation works  from a ´tecnico´ etc.

I would suggest contacting your Town Hall, the ´perito´ or town´s architect at the Planning or Urbanismo department to make enquiries about the exact requisites as published by the relevant Autonomous Governments.
