Not just Telefonica/Movistar….. Vodafone has also been denounced by a Spanish Consumer Organisation for the illegal increase of rates and a change in service conditions.
The organisation explains that conditions of the permanency period are not just binding for the consumer, but for the provider as well. The tariff should remain the same for the duration of the permanency period.
Recently, millions of Vodafone clients have been advised by SMS about an increase, per the 1st of July 2015, of the monthly rates and a change in the service conditions. This affects all those that have contracted Plan Red S, Plan Red L, Plan Red XL, Plan Smart S, Plan Smart M, Plan Mini S and Plan Mini Voz.
Those affected and not in agreement with the increase of monthly rates have the choice to either denounce Vodafone with Consumer Protection Offices, demanding that Vodafone maintains the rates as mentioned in their contracts or terminate the contract (baja) and demand that Vodafone pays indemnization, equivalent of the penalty for cancelling during permanency period as mentioned in their respective contracts.
