Programa de Ayudas para la Rehabilitación Energética de Edificios existentes (Programa PAREER-II) / Programme for Energy Saving Improvements to Existing Buildings. Second edition.
To promote ´reformas´ that will result in a higher energy efficiency of existing buildings, approx. 125 million euro have been made availabe to the Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy (IDAE) that has published a programme of subsidies and financing of projects, either
– to improve the energy efficiency of the thermal enclosure
– to improve the energy efficiency of the thermal and lighting installations
– to substitute conventional energy by geothermal energy in thermal installations
– to substitute conventional energy by biomass in thermal installations
The projects must lead to an improvement in energy qualification of the building of at least one letter in the scale of carbondioxide emissions (kg CO2/m2/year), compared to the initial energy qualification and can be the result of one single project, or a combination of several.
You can apply for the subsidy/loan if you are
– owner of existing property, irrespective of its use.
– communities of owners or associations of communities of owners of residential property, used as ´vivienda´, and qualified as Propiedad Horizontal.
– owners that as a group own buildings that do not qualify as Propiedad Horizontal
– Businesses that exploit or rent out properties.
– Business that offer energy services.
Eligible projects with estimated cost between 30.000 and 4 million euros.
The programme offers subsidies, complemented by a loan that you´ll need to refund.

Window for applications has opened on the 3rd of February 2018.
As the loan part of the programme is quite complicated and involves a bank guarantee ´aval bancaria´ I suggest using the services of a gestor for this.
