When Do I Need to Register as Resident (Regular or Fiscal)?

By law you have to register on the Registro de Extranjeros, through the Foreigners Office of the Policia Nacional in your area, after you have been here for 3 months.

You are considered a fiscal resident, and thus obliged to file annual tax returns, after you have resided in Spain for 183 days, accumulative, in one tax year. General Rule. The tax year in Spain runs from January 1st to December 31st.
