Fire Risks – Andalucia / Valencia

GENERAL INFORMATION

Since June 2011, the period of high fire risk in Andalusia, (previously the high danger began in July), due to the entry into force of the Emergency Plan approved by the Junta de Andalucía in September 2010. The start of the extinction campaign coincides with the entry into force of the order that regulates the use of fire in Andalusia until October 15, prohibiting the carrying out of barbecues or agricultural burning in forest areas and areas of forest influence throughout the period set as high fire hazard.

The ‘ban’ also applies to recreative areas or campings where stone bbqs have been built for the users’  convenience.

Valid for 2019 as well.

– High Danger Period: from 1 June to 15 October.

– Medium Danger Period: from 1 May to 31 May and from 16 October to 31 October.

– Low Danger Period: from 1 January to 30 April and from 1 November to 31 December

Would suggest talking to your local town hall for their specific requirements during these periods.
