Digital Certificate, Indispensable

November 2017.

In my opinion, installing a Digital Certificate on your computer for yourself and any other adult family members is the single most useful thing to arrange for in Spain, both for residents and non-residents alike. Maybe only equalled by arranging for on-line banking, with regards to convenience.

The amount of information and services on Government websites, local, regional and national, is ever increasing and you will be surprised what becomes available or what you can arrange for with only very little effort, all from your lazy chair at home.

There are various ways to access the electronic offices of government organisations, there´s the digital certificate, the Cl@ve Pin, the permanent Cl@ve and AutoFirma. The Spanish can add DNIe to that list. In my experience the digital certificate is the most versatile of the options and easiest to use, once installed.

We have been publishing a series of FAQs from our website on the facebook group the past couple of weeks, all with info on what information is available with a digital certificate, on a wide range of subjects.

Started off with the information on what it is exactly, and how to install it on your computer. We will keep on adding to this list.
